Installation and first steps

Install the app#

1. Open GOM Tools on the Shopify App Store and click Install.
2. Review the permissions the app asks for and confirm. The app does not read your store’s customer list.
3. The app opens in Apps → GOM Tools in your admin. You start on the Free plan and can change it whenever you want.

Turn the app on in your theme#

Shopify asks you to enable apps once in the theme editor. After that, whatever you change in GOM Tools applies automatically.

1. In the app, go to Widgets and click Open theme editor. You can also go to Online Store → Themes → Customize.
2. Open App embeds (the apps icon in the sidebar) and turn on GOM Tools WhatsApp widget.
3. Click Save in the theme editor.

Your first WhatsApp button#

1. In Widgets, click New widget.
2. In the WhatsApp tab, type your number with its country code, for example +1 555 123 4567, and the message the chat opens with.
3. Click Save. Open your store: the button shows at the bottom right.

App language#

The app follows your admin language, English or Spanish. You can switch it with the language icon at the top right of the app. The texts your customers see on the store are the ones you write in each widget and form.
